Founded in 2004, One LA-IAF is the largest and most diverse broad-based organizing effort in Los Angeles County. Congregations, schools, nonprofit organizations, and labor unions intentionally work together across cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic boundaries to form this “organization of organizations.” Through our institutions, we teach the practical skills of public engagement to the citizens of Los Angeles county. In so doing, One LA sustains a vibrant democratic culture in LA County, which builds the power necessary to effect change around issues that matter most to our families.
One LA is affiliated nationally with the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF), which is the oldest and largest organizing network in the United States. The IAF operates under the West/Southwest IAF Network and has been active in Los Angeles since the 1970s. You may see us also on Facebook, at OneLA.
